happy halloween!

as some of you may know...halloween got going for alex and i on saturday with erin and michael. some tentative plans became a reality.

but then sunday, alex and i continued the festivities with more pumpkin carving and the viewing of 'it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown!'

well, i said i'd follow ray's tips and share the results...and although his pumpkin is superior...i am greatly satisfied with my attempt.

what do you think?

check out 23 for all the carving festivities.

the test run

of course i need more blood, but you get the idea.

i am so ready for halloween! alex and i have no plans as of yet, but we've got our costumes sorted. maybe we'll end up wandering around aimlessly, but we'll look good.

carve me

look at this pumpkin carving crazyness!

ray's pumpkin carving tutorial tells me exactly how to produce this masterpiece...step by step.

i'm trying it.

and for better or ugly or worse i'll photograph the results and share them with you.

photomania

i love travelling, but i also love coming back home and sleeping in my own bed.

so many travelers tales, so little desire to type them out here. the way i figure it, all you people (in victoria and vancouver) need to start meeting the boy, and as the brits say...alex can talk for england...so i'll let him relay all our stories when we're together.

but what you can do is check out my pictures if you like...there are quite a few spread between picasa, flickr, and 23.

we've been to the space needle

we've seen the destruction of a volcano

we've walked the west coast trail

we've thought that going out in a rowboat on the ocean was a good idea

we've seen weird alien skin sandstone on hornby island

and we've seen beautiful waterfalls

i think i like journeying around in the autumn...sure the spring and summer have warm weather and blue skies...but autumn has atmospheric clouds and mist, and great fiery colours.

good times!

on this day...

it's friday the 13th and i just noticed something interesting.

Some historians propose that the origin of the "Black Friday" was the simultaneous arrest of hundreds of Knights Templars on 13 October 1307 (Friday), to be later tortured into admitting heresy.

so today is the original friday the 13th.

death by 'all you can eat' sushi

this is the face of someone who's eyes were bigger than their tummy.

alex and i went to yokohama for their tuesday night all you can eat special. it was very good and i would most certainly recommend it. but we suffered the down fall of any all you can eat ideal, we ordered too much and had to force the last few things into our over flowing esophagi as you don't want to pay for things you don't eat.

having to swallow the last three sushi roll pieces hurt.

alex and i ventured out to goldstream park in the beautiful sunshine today. we were too early in the month to see the salmon spawning though. i'm not sure if that's lucky or not. Posted by Picasa
